Do you break out in itchy, red, scaly skin? Is it dry and painful? Well, I have a cure for that!
I love taking soothing, relaxing baths as a way to destress. And something I enjoy using is the Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment. With my love for swimming and the outdoors, my skin tends to get really dry. And honestly, who has time for a full on body-lathering of lotion. Not me! 😉
So I buy the bath treatment every so often. But, the product can be a bit pricey when you can make double the product for almost no cost to yourself! Except for maybe 5 minutes of your time and effort. 😉 So, I have come up with my own DIY Oatmeal Bath Treatment. Because that’s mostly what the Aveeno one is made up of. 😀 I’ve given the recipe to some family members who have eczema, and they say it soothes their skin and leaves it feeling smooth. I can’t agree more!
DIY Oatmeal Bath Treatment
You’ll Need . . .
- 2 cups old fashioned oats
- 7 drops vanilla (extract or oil) (optional)
- 5 drops lavender essential oil (optional)
- A blender
- A container (airtight, preferably)
I used the lavender and vanilla to make the treatment smell good. I’d recommend using the lavender, though, if you’re not allergic, as the benefits of lavender are amazing in so many ways. Comment below if you want a post on the benefits of lavender! ❤
S T E P O N E (trust me, it’s quite simple)
Ready for how simple this is??
Take out your blender and your oats. Add the two cups of oats to the blender. Blend until the oats become powdery.

I know, I know, it gets a little harder here. 😉 😉
Add the seven drops of vanilla extract or oil and five drops of lavender oil (more or less to your preference) into the blended oats, and blend until the lavender and vanilla are mixed into the oats.

Pour blended oats, vanilla extract or oil, and lavender oil into a container. Save later for a bath and enjoy!
You really could make this simple recipe with any oils or extracts you want as long as they’re safe. Consult a doctor if you are pregnant or have any serious health conditions if you will be adding essential oils. ❤
