One of The Most Important Things in a Person

Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely week! Who else is in winter right now? Tell me – do prefer the cold or the heat? Or does it depend?

So (to me:)..

What is One of the Most Important Things in a Person?

Kindness.

Whether it be in a friend, partner, or family member, I believe one of the most important things in a person is kindness.

Why?

Here’s my thinking:

Of all desirable qualities, almost everything else eventually fades.

Intelligence? As your mind gets older, it doesn’t work as well as it used to.
Beauty? When you get older, the conventional, external idea of beauty begins to fade.

As for the other qualities, they don’t seem as desirable without kindness…

Boldness: Is someone worth keeping around that makes bold decisions without regard to others? That isn’t kind?
Honesty: Is time being well spent around a person who tells you the truth just to be mean? There are ways to be honest without being rude.
Creativity: Would you want to be around someone with great ideas that puts yours down? Shoves them in your face, trying to convince you they are right?

Kindness is something that should not be taken for granted. So many people embody this quality, but its impact in our everyday lives is often overlooked. Being kind is something to be proud of, and it is something to be worked at and manifested by not only our words, but our actions.

If you can be anything, anything at all, be kind.

So, do you agree?

(I think I’ll be making a post on The Importance of Kindness too, and delve into it a little more. Happy reading, Sparklers!) ❤
